About Pyramid Index

American soccer is a pyramid with no promotion or relegation. MLS sits at the top, and underneath are thousands of teams in the USL, NPSL, UPSL, APSL, USL League Two and dozens of regional leagues. They rarely meet, so nobody knows how good they really are.

Pyramid Index puts all of them on one scale using every game that connects them. It's built for the non-league game first: the clubs, players and fans below the pros.
